Yvette Banks-Jones
FOUNDER, OWNER


As the owner of Accent It Accessories and Interiors, Yvette is diligent in her design profession and has the passion for creating environments that showcase special features found within a spaces architecture and or trending times.
Prior to business ownership, Yvette has worked in the design industry in Space Planning, Occupancy Planning, Furniture Merchandising and Marketing. With over 15 years of design experiences and holding degrees in both Architecture and Interior Design, Yvette has worked closely with homeowners, investors, and business owners, to extend her aesthetic desires to design for commercial and residential spaces. One of her known projects consist of the relocating and designing the Headquarters of one of the first black owned banks of Detroit Michigan; First Independence Bank.
Aside from designing, Yvette is also the owner of a new non-profit; HOPES (Helping Other People Emerge Successfully) which is driven on her passions to give back within communities. She is also an Interior Design Professor at Oakland College, where she coaches and guides future upcoming designers as they begin to navigate to find their place within the field of design. She holds a seat on the College Advisory Board where she contributes to the advancements of the college through group collaborations and discussions.
